drawer generator - plugin help file

In the main screen of the plugin, the relevant values for the drawer can be entered and additional options can be chosen. Most values in the plugin are saved between different calls whilst in the same file. When the plugin is first called from a new file, the previous settings are discarded to start fresh.

First, a reference for the drawer can be entered in the plugin. This will be the name of the drawer group in Pytha and the reference for the webshop.

Next, the model of the drawer can be selected. The options available are Drawer, Internal drawer C handle and Internal drawer full front. When a regular drawer is chosen a setback can be entered for the distance to the front. This has a default value of 2 mm, but if a new value is entered this number will be stored for the next time the plugin is called, even from another file.

The main material can be selected from the options available for the drawer type. If the selected material has different possible thicknesses the drop list in enabled and a choice can be made. The same can be done for the material of the bottom of the drawer.

After this the internal cabinet width can be chosen together with the drawer direction and origin, by selecting three points along the internal cabinet walls. The first reference point the plugin asks for is the left side internal cabinet front. The second reference point is the right side internal cabinet front, which is used to calculate the internal cabinet width and any observed rotation. The third reference point is used to determine the bottom of the cabinet, which only takes into account the selected Z-value. the X and Y values of the origin are based on the first reference point.

By selecting the manual input button the values for the internal width, the origin and the rotational degrees can be entered manually. If, for example, you would like to use the reference points to get the internal cabinet width but change the rotational degrees, it is possible to do so from the manual input menu.

After this, the height of the drawer can be chosen and the nominal depth can be selected.

There are several extra order options which can be chosen, from these available options only the filler profile(s) are actually drawn in the Pytha file. The other options just serve as information for when placing the order at Kima.

You can choose which drawer slide to order. The options are all for Movento underlying runners, which is standardly included in the drawing. This choice of guide only relates to the data for the webshop order.

For a soft-close drawer, it is possible (if the drawer has an appropriate nominal depth) to order a Tip-on set.

You can also choose whether the connectors are pre-mounted or supplied separately.

It is also possible to choose to order a depth adjuster for the drawer, but this will not be included in the drawing.

It is possible to order a synchronization rod when ordering a soft-close guide.

Finally, it is possible to choose to order filler profile(s). When this option is selected, a new menu will appear where the sides for the filler profile(s) can be chosen along with their colour. It is possible to choose a spacer for the left and/or right sides (as seen from the front of the drawer). The plugin automatically subtracts the necessary distance from the internal cabinet width for the filler profile(s).
